Brigid the Rebel - Prankquean Concert
Prankquean Concert, ‘Brigid the Rebel’
Our 'Brigid the Rebel' concert will feature traditional music with a Celtic flavour including Irish harp, the poetry of Anne Casey as well as drama and spoken word performances honouring feisty Irish Australian women. The courageous spirit of Brigid the Celtic Pagan Godess and that of Ireland's matriarchal saint of the same name have inspired the program prepared for this concert.
The Prankqueans are an ensemble of artists inspired by ancient Celtic mythology to celebrate all things female and Irish Australian. Featuring acclaimed writers, musicians, singer-songwriters and performing artists, every show offers a theme explored through the careful curation of music, dance, poetry, prose and drama.
The Prankqueans: Áine de Paor, Anne Casey, Cliona Molins, Jacqueline McPhee, Julie McFarland and Rosie McDonald.
Their previous performances include celebrations of beloved Irish festivals: Samhain, Meitheal na mBan, Nollaig na mBan and of course Brigid.

Established in 2018, RTTS became a full time operation when Galea had to drop out of the Parsons New York MFA program in Fashion Design & Society due to the Covid pandemic in 2020. The brand’s mission is to Reject Shame, Act With Love and Dress How You Feel. RTTS has a focus on fit flexibility; and endeavours to make clothing that fits a range of genders, body types and sizes.
