Harpist

Clíona Molins

Cliona is a harp player, teacher and composer who was classically trained in Dublin at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she studied both the Irish and Concert Harp.

Cliona and shakuhachi flute player Riley Lee have been performing together since 2012. Both musicians combine their distinguished knowledge of two ancient instruments from distinct cultural backgrounds.  Cliona has been involved in projects that pay tribute to ‘voices from our unsung past’. She was interviewed by ABC Radio National’s The Music Show in 2021, to talk about the Irish Harp and the launch of her Parramatta Female Factory Song Suite which she composed together with Rosie McDonald.

She regularly performs with Sydney-based duo Strangelove playing music with a distinct latin american and world music flavour. For more see clionaharpist.com.au
